Geez, man, I've only got 4 cans at the most at any one time. Then again, I don't have a fridge to store any of it in and I can only spend $20 every other week if I don't order out much. Maybe more if I just brew my own coffee and bringing it to class in a travel mug instead of buying it every morning.

Question. Were you a smoker before snus?? If so, I guarantee you were spending way more money on cigarettes than snus. Snus cut my tobacco budget by close to 70%. I have never even thought about the money I spend on snus as I know every day it is saving me money.

No matter how poor I was, I always bought cigarettes. At my poorest when I was 21, homeless for a summer living on friend's couches, I was selling my plasma two days a week. Choice between eating and cigarettes, I chose cigarettes evey time.

Even at my poorest last year, snus was always a priority cause it was a hell of a lot better than the alternative.

Not cigarettes but cigars and pipes. Since last summer I've only had one or two cigars or bowls on the weekends either because I was too tired from working all week or because I just didn't have much time. Though with snus it doesn't matter what I'm doing so long as it isn't hitting the gym or running. But my budget really is a big constraint since I've a very limited income at a military college. Shouldn't be too big a problem after graduation and into the Marines.

My wife and I don't have much money. Her in college and 3 kids at home make things tough. My job almost dies in winter, which makes it tougher. She threw a fit when I spent $150 on snus in November. Now that she sees that it will last til March and I'm not buying 10-12 packs of smoke a week, she's much happier with it. All I have ordered since is a few I didn't order enough of (Phantom Blue) and some new brands and some snuff, I have saved 100's of dollars that we would have HAD to spend on smokes. Instead of $120+ a month I have spent maybe $50 in two months. Another $50 this week, but that will get me into April when my jobs kicks back up. (Hopefully)

I spend an incredibly lower amount of cash on tobacco than I used to.

$7.50 per day MINIMUM on smokes, even if I bought cartons (The reality is that I always spent more. Gum, some chips etc etc)

            $52.50 per week

            $223 per month

            $2705 per year

times 1.5 since my wife smokes (about half of what I used to)

            $4063 per year on tobacco.....

            Now:

About $50 per month on tobacco for me

About $75 per month for my wife (she smokes about a half a pack a day and uses Oliver Twists when we game together or when she is at work)

            $1500 per year

73.1 % drop in our tobacco budget!

Coincidentally, that's about how much her salary changed to once she took a voluntary demotion at work to be closer to home.

Starting the depression off right! Getting our finances in order :P

I am slowly building up my stash right now just in case.

No matter how you think about it, snus is a clear winner over cigarettes, although, I have been using a little over twice as much snus compared to a month a half ago when I started snusing for the first time. I have been starting with a skruf regular portion at 8:30, another skruf portion at 10:30, Ettan portion 1:00, another Ettan portion at 3:30 and double pris of general los after dinner and lately another skruf portion about 1 hour before sleep. The buzz I have been getting from the portions is much less than the buzz from the los.
