This only works with portions and is what i do when in a country where hygiene is an issue.

Get a packet of cocktail sticks or toothpicks. Get your snus can out your pocket - the outside of the can might be grubby but the aim is to not touch the inside of the can.

Get the cocktail stick out the pack only touching one end of it. Jab a snus portion with the other end of the stick. Whack it in your mouth. Move into place with your tongue. Put lid back on can. Job done. Enjoy!

if i happen to be at work and can't readily get to the bathroom, i'll wipe my hands on my dirty work pants. but i just don't want to ruin perfectly good pants with some sort of grease or oil from my hands, so i wear pretty beat up shit to work.

I usually wash my hands pretty often so I don't always worry about that unless I'm out and about or riding a city bus (I always feel contaminated after that, but I'm mildly OCD as well ) The way I like to have a portion is to take it out and fluff it up with my fingers, then roll it in half like a hot dog bun and pop it into my upper lip so it doesn't hang down. It will stay in place much better and drip less. As for any fear of germs you might have, you'll be happy to know that nicotine is quite antiseptic in its own right so any germs that might find their way onto your portion from hand contact will be killed right away. That and the pH of snus is rather inhospitable to bacterial growth.

As for your car, I usually rinse my fingertips off after putting in a pouch and you wont be able to do that in a car. Might I suggest wet wipes or even a damp washcloth? I detail cars now and then as a business and I don't think you have too much to worry about.

I place myself firmly in the opposite camp. One of my favourite past-times is pulling out snuff mortar and flicking it at people. Guess OP and I might not get along.

Hey k3v, welcome back....I don't do loose snus often but I do need to wipe the fingers on something after a pinch, generally not my clothes.....

It's funny that you bumped this thread as I thought about it out of the blue the other day......our OCD original poster must have a difficult time with popcorn....canned nuts,etc.........

I know this is a fairly old thread and you may not even be posting here anymore, but I can relate to having OCD regarding oily/messy hands. I strategically do the same thing at restaurants and have sometimes jumped up more than once in the middle of a meal to wash my hands. my friends think it's weird and give me shit for it, but i've been dipping for 10 years and have to put my fingers in my mouth a few times a day to get my fix. i've also noticed that my friends who dip are always rubbing the residue on their pants after taking a pinch of tobacco. I always, as a trait of my OCD, have some sort of napkin in my pocket to clean my hands after taking a pinch. it's frustrating, but i'm fine with having clean hands as a result. i don't seem to have any issues with portions and oils, but i also had been dipping muddy tobacco which is far and above much more disgusting and messy. hope you've found your answers by now.

If oils from snus on fingers or in the car are the problem, try purified portions. They are completely dry and clean, the only moisture is the one provided by you... So before starting funny thingies with tweezers in a car, I would try Art/DOS/Northerner/AlCapone/Oomph/Wise etc.

If you have OCD it is possible you may be overly concerned with the hygene issues... i mean essentially snus is classed as a food product , it's safe to put it in your mouth, if your worried just make sure you have clean hands , a little vbacteria is good for your immune system anyway
