It's all a matter of perspective and there is certainly nothing wrong with loving your country.

Here in Canada I like having low crime, hardly any visible poverty, bilingualism, easy access to higher education, never ever seeing a medical bill, equality for women and gays - including abortion rights, religion mostly relegated to the private sphere, and endless discussion but little outright polarization or aggression in politics.

I dislike the nanny statism that continues to grow here and the increasing tyrrany of public health (especially as regards tobacco), the almost total lack of public transportation infrastructure, the increasing fragmentation of the country with less and less national will but more and more regionalism, and the American ownership of almost all our enterprises and the fact that we are seen internationally as an appendage of the US market.

I don't mind paying taxes if it keeps things cool.

But hey, it is all a matter of values and nowhere is perfect. I just wish we had freely available snus!

I live in the USA and love it, although I was born and raised in the UK. Still wouldn't mind having boobs on public TV though. A nice pair of boobies never hurt anyone.

I didn't mean to bash the USA, different countries suit different people, and I'm happy where I am. Except the current government sucks balls.

But a lot of people don't like it here and emigrate.

It would be interesting to see if Swedish Match could market Gellivare snus in the UK and other countries in the EU as nasal snuff. Since it's drier and can be used as loose snus or 'snuffed' up the old snout. Me wonders if any other brands of nasal snuff could be moistened, baked, lipped and taste any good. Throw some in a teabag when you want a potion, there's posts on here from users who have used the heat-sealing variety.
