    First impressions of using los

I've been using RL for a few days now and I'm quite liking it. However I don't really get any flavour because of not poking it and stuff... is this normal? If so what is the point in having different flavours?

How long do you have the pris in and how firm are you baking it? I've noticed that it takes a little while for the flavor to get going with a firm pris. Once you have it in for about 15 minutes, saliva should saturate the pris and it will start releasing flavor. The trick is to get the pris firm enough to stay together, but not so tight that it sits in your mouth like a rock for half an hour. RL is kinda mild to begin with, so maybe you need something stronger like say....Skruf Stark! Keep with it, it takes some practice. My first days of los'n were a complete failure!

Mmmmmm....fresh prilla of Skruf. Think I'll just pop this in and.......Ungh..Ack! ABORT! ABORT! (Spit, spit, rinse)

May be I am baking them too firm, I've had a few mudslides...

Leave them in for about an hour before it becomes a mess.

If you bake them to hard just give them a little poke once in your mouth. After a while you'll learn what ya like (baking style that is).

I think I've been doing them too big as well.

I'm slowly getting there, it's a completely different experience to using the portions!

Related question: is a good starting place for determining how big of a prilla to bake by trying to make it roughly the same size as the amount of snus in a portion? I find that so far, I take enough los snus into my palm to make a much larger pinch than I was planning, even when I'm trying not to...

In Zero's stickied video of how to bake, he makes what looks like a pretty damn big cylindar. That, or he has tiny hands...

Yeah, I agree, Zero's prilla is quite long and fat. Wait... That sounds weird. I mean, yes, that's a lot. Mine are generally about a third of that size or so. I also find it can depend on the nicotine content. A giant pinch of strong snus can make me ill, but I like the strong stuff so my pinches are smaller and therefore more manageable. It all comes down to personal preference.

I went by that video too and found it a little large, I'm getting there though I think, I'm definitely getting some flavour out of it.

Umm, from what I have seen "baking" a pris is just forming it your hand. So why do they call it "baking" if you never use an oven?...
