Sounds like they got some phone calls and emails they didn't like. They're trying to make other's lives worse, so hopefully they didn't sleep well for a couple nights. That's overly optimistic though. Only a fool would take the internet seriously. Either they're stupid, or hoping some crocodile tears will generate sympathy.

Make no mistake, to them this is a threat. To them, it's evidence that some people don't swallow their ideology. I believe they are taking it as a personal insult that people could dare disagree with them. The mere idea that people can think for themselves is enough to set people like them off.

Yeah, see, there'll be more of it too. Stomping out cigarettes for them was an easy slam-dunk, because there were decades worth of science backing their assertions up. Smoking is indeed lethal. Nearly everyone in the US and Europe who can(or who wishes to)quit has done so, and the smokers who are left get the honor of paying exorbitantly high prices for their smokes to fill the coffers of Washington and Brussels.

Snus gives them pause, though. Not only is there not half a century's worth of science in their favor, the science that is present appears to be decidedly NOT in their favor. It allows people to quit smoking while still using tobacco, and prohibiting the use of tobacco in general, whether outright or de facto, has always been their goal. It's easier for them to do this in the EU because A)Snus is more prevalent in the EU than in the US, and B)EU tobacco laws are far more retarded and nonsensical than in the U.S.

Expect them to keep yelling, and expect their shrillness and childishness to increase as the tide eventually turns against them.
