    Snus2 budget los tubs

It was squeezyjohn that said this=that in this thread

    http://www.snuson.com/forum/showthre...ser-in-trouble

    Kapten Hansson = General
    Coarse Snus = Grov
Göta Älvs Blåa = Göteborgs Rapé
Fine Grain Loose = Prima Fint / Ettan

They can be found here ---> http://snus2.se/index.php/loose-snus.html

So, my question is, does this, really=that ? Is the copying good? If it's just ok i think i'm gunna get one of each when i'm ready to order because, i really need to cut the cost down now. So, anybody had any ?

I've never had any............but if you get some I would love to hear your thoughts on it
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Feedback on these löses would be great, I use snus2 pretty much exclusively now and thought about buying some of these. I'd be interested in how they handbake too. Like fazer tho, I'm pretty well stocked up on snus so I'll wait to hear.

I did say that. And I'm pretty sure I either read it somewhere or it may even have been in the product descriptions about a year ago (Snus2 have always had this line since I started looking at their site).

Anyway - it's pretty clear from the names and packaging that the Grov, Prima Fint and Göteborgs Rapé ones are attempting to look like their similarly flavoured branded ones. I'm slightly regretting saying that the Fine Grain Loose might be like Ettan as I have no idea although Prima Fint has a similar flavour profile. Plus I'm sure I remember there being one called No.1 (which is what Ettan means in english) which seems to have been withdrawn - possibly for legal reasons. General is a military position in swedish as well as english so I imagine Kapten is named for that reason too.

I've never ordered any of them - that's a lot of lös for me to use up especially as I've got loads of home-brew lös to use up. I'm intrigued by the Anno 1903 which is in the same range but looks unique and is supposed to have maple flavouring in it. Any reviews would be great to read for me.

          Cheers

I think General snus means general snus from general store, nothing to do with military ranks. Todays General snus is average of average pre-1915 snus, when Swedish tobacco industry was nationalized.

That was my understanding. "general"(small "g") was the "house" snus of its day.

Yes, I've read several times that "General" should be understood as "common" (the naming for a second class snus), while Ettan clearly means "the first" (Ljunglöf invented that naming to mark Ettan as his best snus). Nearly every manufacturer originally had a "General" and an "Ettan" snus. Nowadays, the names are trademarked, of course.

It's quite clear that the names of some of the classic brands are very old-fashioned, as people of that time (1822-1915) liked to use foreign words (Latin and French were kinda hip). Modern day Swedes probably understand General only as a military rank, but I'd leave it to our Swedish members to further comment on that.

BTW, I'm actually enjoying a new brand of snus that got me interested by the naming: "Knekt". It obviously has the same origins as the German "Knecht", a (miserable) farm-worker, and the English "Knight" (well, a highest ranking aristocrat and military person in the old feudalistic Europe). In Swedish it only means "soldier" and thereby is more related to the antiquated German word "Landsknecht".

Before I found out what Knekt really means, I just thought, well, Knekt, farm-worker?, hm..., it's probably a plain tobacco snus without frills, let's try a can. It really is a great snus that could become my Ettan-replacement, if Fiedler & Lundgren decided to produce a lös-version.

Back to topic: I guess I'll try Snus2's budget snus with my next order.

                  Cheers!
