    Sweetest Swedish Snus?

Okay folks, coming over from cigs, then to dip and chew, the clouds parted and I found Swedish snus and you good people on this forum.

As anyone who's dipped or chews knows, many N. American brands can be very sweet. I'm sure some of the true Swedish snus connesiuers will roll their eyes at this question but I've found myself missing a hit of sugary goodness with my nicotine.

So what's the sweetest Swedish snus? Thanks.

For me, personally...I would say LD Black is the sweetest Swedish snus I've tried. Damn good snus, though.

I'd say General Mint and Jaks. Wintergreen.

            Definitely try
            Jakobsson's
            Mint Strong Portion
... simply delicious, long-lasting, sweeter than most
            but not cloyingly sweet
            and leaves no bitter aftertaste.
(Especially good with Mint Hot Chocolate... mmmmm!!)

I think it's catch pure mint. It does not taste salty at all. It's only sweet but a bit less sweeter than US dip. I've been also missing less saltier or sweeter snuses. I don't understand why there are so few of them and don't also like the heavy saltiness in most of the snuses. Sometimes it's okay and fits well if it's salty but there should be more a lightier salted snuses but I think that's just the way swedish snus is. I like also dip but some of the are too sweet. I think Catch pure mint had just the right sweeteness.

I agree that the Catch Pure Mint (at 7mg) is a good mint but find that it wears out quickly and then has a slightly bitter taste. The size and the texture are perfect!

Jakobsson's Mint Strong Portion (14mg) lasts much longer and I have had none turn bitter, even after an hour and a half (at which time it's ready to be replaced since the nicotine is no longer there). I think it says something that you forget you have it in so long since it tastes so good!

On another note, I've tried the new Skoal mints (??mg) and they're a vast improvement over any of the other Americans. As big as they are, the size turns into a more compact 'pillow' that reminds me of a well-chewed soft chunk o' gum. In the end, though, they don't hold a candle to something like Jac's Mint... but I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who's initially hesitant to try 'them ferrin pouches' (I know they'll eventually be tempted and Skoal is, so far, a good beginning for the hesitant American snuser).

General Mint is by far the sweetest.... it's like having sugar in your mouth at some point.

The Northerner purified portion Wintergreen and Boost are very sweet. Boost has a honey flavor. I would imagine that the others in that line are sweet as well.

Not like the BOOST, which is pleasantly the sweetest of the bunch.

Wine & Dine has no detectable sweetness, perfect after a meal that
was so good you want to savor its lingering flavors a while longer!

You could try Stevia Extract Liquid (available at Whole Foods and through Amazon)...

Just add one drop on any portion to up the sweetness (adjust to taste but be careful...
it's very sweet); just let it sit long enough to be absorbed before using.

I found that Skoal was actually TOO sweet for my tastes. Plus there is minimal nicotine. I tried the sweet mint. Anymore, if I crave a sweet nic hit, I pick up a can of dip. You might like the Skoal "snus" but if you are trying to feed that nic craving, be prepared to down half the can at once.

Another thing to try is the Stonewall dissolvables. It's not snus of course but has even lower TSNA levels than Swedish snus. Very sweet. Three flavors, Java, Natural and Wintergreen.
