Vårgårda Skog is a pretty good snus out of JTI.
The Vårgårda tins are pretty cool, and they have neat, modern looking stickers.
The Skog is juniper and lavender, and when the tin is opened it has a smell similar to Göteborg’s Rapé XR portions. Less sweet smelling but similar.
The taste is really good, equally lavender and juniper and there is a good balance. There is good tobacco, some nice flavor, and a touch of bitterness…which is not a deal breaker for me. I like a good weak rounded flavor in my snus. It is not very gin like (which is what I want from a juniper snus) but it has a really good and balanced flavor.
This is a portion snus, and I gotta be honest, these portions are rough for me. I don’t like portions as a general statement, and I’ve been spoiled by Swedish Match portions which are like soft little snus pillows. These are different, and more fibrous it appears from a visual inspection. I’m also a folder to keep them above my gum line and these are kinda rough to me.
Overall if you like GR and want full size portions, this is a great cheaper alternative…or a really good snus to add into your rotation. Try them out, I grabbed it for the Juniper but there is a whole line of these snus with interesting flavors.
