    Stress from chain snusing

I know Im all over the board right now with questions so please, have patience!

Its just Im interested in tobacco, and mental health.

Today I snused all day and just felt so lethargic all day. Then later this evening decided to throw away all my tobacco. I went a whole hour without anything then broke down and bought some cigs.

Point being after a few cigs I took a walk and just felt so lifted.

Im so torn. It seems smoking just gives me energy. I feel so much all the
Time when snusing im just dragging.

I wonder if its because i should just smoke, or maybe I should snus but somehow take breaks... which is hard for me to "do".

    Sorry for all the questions.
To snus or not to snus. That is not the question

    2 possible reasons:

    1) Snus is a very slow nicotine delivery method. Cigarettes are very fast. A lot of the smokers here complain that it is hard to get used to. I came to snus by way of dipping, which is a slower delivery than smoking, and I can still tell that snus takes a minute to get going. I like that. However, you may prefer the instant delivery.

    2) You may in fact be getting too much nicotine from snus. Try cutting back on consumption a bit or using mini portions. With minis you could keep one in but you would get less nicotine. That helps make the nicotine feel more like the stimulant that it is than the depressant that large doses can mimic. If I had a dollar for every time dip made me sleepy, I could by my own personal Swedish Match brand....

Just like pouchface said. Give it some time. Snusing IS different than smoking/dipping. Thats why we are all here. I dont think you'll find anyone from the U.S that just started snusing, we all started with something else and made the switch.

Try something with more/less nicotine. Sounds like you need less. But also try to get something thats a little more moist to begin with to make sure the nicotine comes on a little quicker (maybe jaks melon) if you like something fruity that is pretty moist. While your waiting to feel comfortable with that switch start exploiting the benefits of not smoking. I"m told simple things like breathing are a lot easier after just a day or two. Also food is supposed to taste better. If you feel you're dragging try to add some energy? Do you drink coffee? If you do then have another cup later. If you don't use caffeine have a can of dr pepper or coke during those times. Maybe even a small snack with a lot of protein.

If you are a heavy smoker that lift you get from cigs will go away eventually and you will be left feeling very unhealthy. As pouchface said, maybe try mini portions or get some strong loose. With loose you can regulate how much nicotine you get by adjusting the size of the prilla. If you are jonesing for a smoke take a big one. If you are feeling lethargic take a small one. Plus I think loose tastes better.

Thanks. I guess my main concern is I think snus seems more like a nicotine high. It kinda stresses me out sometimes. Its alright

No you're quite correct - that's exactly what I get sometimes and I've been snusing for 6 years!

Sometimes I just love the flavour or put them in when I'm not thinking so end up overdoing snus and the result is a jittery, headachy me that can't concentrate or relax ... It's a horrible place to be and it sounds like you just need to chill out with the frequency of portions.

Sometimes wrong and sometimes right .... but ALWAYS certain!!!
