Count me as a follower. . .a Christian
who loves the Lord. Don't go to church;
don't need to. Take what I need from the
bible inspired by the Holy Spirit and through
daily prayer. Not perfect by any means; just
headed in the right direction. May not satisfy
anyone here, but it works for me.

I did some research into Zoroastrianism in high school and in a college class. I had a lengthy post all set up but decided wikipedia offered a better source than I :wink:

Good luck finding a Zoroastrian on the forum. There aren't many left in the world today.

I was raised Catholic, and in my teen years began to see how completely inane religion is.
Atheist.

I would think, most people accept what they do, even atheist, based on their own upbringing, and what they have been taught, even if rebelling against what they've been taught or seen. In terms of spirituality, I look for what makes the most logical sense to me, and not just based on blind belief. I was raised sorta, Southern Baptist. But it was later in life, after I rejected Christianity, and for a while would call myself atheist, that I became more agnostic, and set out to seriously examine the world faiths. It was then when I discovered Buddhism, and Hinduism, both of which have many many variant teachings and traditions, that I got into the deeper philosophical aspects, and am most in agreement with Advaita Vedanta, championed by Adi Shankaracharya. To really grasp this, you have to throw out all that baggage and brainwash you were indoctinated with, and then approach spirituality from a fresh philosophical view, and Advaita Vedanta really makes the most logical sense. I'd recommend a great primer by Shankara, The Crest Jewel of Discrimination. It can be found online.
