Wal-Mart Store Apologizes For Baking ISIS Battle Flag Cake

Wal-Mart is apologizing for a store in Slidell, La., which refused to bake a cake designed as the Confederate battle flag but accepted a request to bake a cake that looked like the ISIS battle flag.
Chuck Netzhammer, a local resident, presented his story in a YouTube video Friday, saying, “Alright, Wal-Mart, you’ve got some explaining to do. I went to go buy a cake from you all the other day with this image on it and y’all wouldn’t do it. I went back yesterday and managed to get the ISIS battle flag [cake instead].”
Netzhammer shows the ISIS battle flag cake to the camera as well as the rejection letter Wal-Mart gave him for the confederate flag cake request. Netzhammer also shows the receipt that went along with the ISIS battle flag cake that Wal-Mart agreed to bake.

Jersey City man accidentally sets himself on fire -- while trying to burn ants, police say

A Jersey City man accidentally set himself on fire on Thursday when he was trying to burn ants, police said.
The 46-year-old victim was igniting gas in an alleyway on Bayview Avenue near Martin Luther King Drive at around 5 p.m. when the gas caused a flashback, police said.
The man suffered second degree burns to his lower arms, according to authorities.

Lab Tests Confirm KFC ‘Fried Rat’ Is Actually Chicken

The alleged fried rat that was found by a KFC customer is nothing more than another piece of chicken in the bucket.
Last week, a California man named Devorise Dixon claimed that a piece of meat that came in his KFC meal was a fried rat.
“It was very nasty,” he said. “I spit it out. I looked down at my hand and I realized that it was in the shape of a rat with a tail and everything in it.”
Independent lab results showed that the breaded lump was, in fact, a piece of chicken.
KFC spokesman Rodrigo Coronel said the man who made the false claim “wasn’t cooperating with an investigation,” so his attorney obtained the ‘rat’ and gave it to an independent lab for testing.
Coronel also alleged that Dixon lied about being told the piece of chicken was a rat.
“We did an internal investigation and talked to all employees. That statement is false,” Coronel wrote. “The right thing for this customer to do is to apologize and cease making false claims about the KFC brand.”

As reported by Swimming World, Schuyler Bailar was a top female swimmer in the country in high school, helping to set a high school record in the girls’ 400-meter medley relay. But after graduating in 2014, she took a gap year, during which she came out as transgender and underwent surgery to transition to living as a man. The switch reportedly means Bailar will be the first openly transgender swimmer to compete at the collegiate level.

Chobani Releases Sexy Yogurt Commercial Featuring Lesbian Couple In Bed

Add another to the list of gay-friendly advertisers — Chobani. The Greek yogurt company has released a romantic, undeniably hot commercial featuring a same-sex couple.
Like Wells Fargo’s recent commercial, a lesbian couple is featured, but Chobani has added a lot more sizzle.
A beautiful woman sits in bed and licks the yogurt from her spoon. She tickles the foot of her partner, whose back is to the camera, and then hops out of the bed, with only a sheet, loosely draped around her nude body. The beckoning blue sea is just outside the window.
Then comes the reveal. The camera moves in on the waking face of her partner — a woman. She’s smiles lovingly, and we see the wedding ring on her finger.
Sold. Or not.
Commercials portraying same-sex couples have drawn the wrath of the conservative right-wing. In response to Wells Fargo’s ad, televangelist Franklin Graham made a public show of closing his accountsat the bank. It was later revealed Graham’s new bank, BB&T is gay-friendly, as well, and has even sponsored a Miami Gay Pride fundraiser.
In a post on his Facebook page, Graham rails at “… the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by big business, the media, and the gay & lesbian community.”
The Wells Fargo commercial is tame in comparison to Chobani’s steamy ad. The yogurt company seems intent on pushing the envelope and has prominently displayed the ad on its website with a caption, “To Love This Life Is To Live It Naturally.”
A spokesperson for Chobani told the Huffington Post “As part of our founding mission to make better food for more people, inclusiveness is at the heart of Chobani. We’re proud that our products are enjoyed by all and we celebrate that diversity whenever — and however — we can.”

A lawyer for unemployed Linda Jenns, 49, told a court she might not survive a prison sentence for causing the death of Paul Stinton
A morbidly obese motorist who caused the death of a jogger claims she is too fat to be jailed.
Unemployed Linda Ann Jenns, 49, knocked down Paul Stinton, 45, in her white Ford Kuga after jumping a red light.
A jury found her guilty of causing the death of Mr Stinton, of Ashford, Kent, by dangerous driving after three days of deliberation.
But her barrister Ian Bridge pleaded with the judge at Canterbury Crown Court not to jail "morbidly obese" Jenns - because she wouldn't be able to cope with life behind bars.
He said she had a stroke seven years ago and at the time of the crash was receiving treatment for her weight problem.

Judge Heather Norton adjourned sentence for two weeks pending medical reports and granted Jenns bail.
But she warned Jenns, of Ashford, Kent, that she faced "an almost certain" jail sentence for the offence -and also gave her an interim driving ban.

Maine woman climbs 75 feet up tree to save cat, gets stuck

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine —It is not uncommon for firefighters to get called to rescue a cat stuck in a tree, but crews in northern Maine recently had to rescue a cat's owner.
A woman climbed 75 feet up a tree in Presque Isle to try and save her cat, but then she panicked and called 911.
The fire department came with a ladder truck and brought her to safety.

23-year prison sentence for woman in slow cooker death

DETROIT (AP) — A Detroit woman who was drunk when she killed a friend with a slow cooker during an argument over presidential politics was sentenced Monday to at least 23 years in prison.
A judge followed the recommended sentence in a plea deal between prosecutors and Tewana Sullivan, who has a history of bipolar disorder but was declared competent to go to trial.
Sullivan, 51, beat Cheryl Livy, 66, with a slow cooker at the victim's Livonia apartment in October. At the time, Sullivan's blood-alcohol level was 0.41 — five times the level for drunken driving in Michigan, defense attorney John McWilliams said.
"I didn't take my medication like I was supposed to, so I did mess up," Sullivan told Wayne County Judge Michael Hathaway. "Without me taking my medication, that was the worst thing I could ever have done."
McWilliams said the two were arguing about the 2016 race for president.
