SF School Adds Gender-Neutral Kindergarten Bathrooms

The first San Francisco elementary school to make bathrooms gender neutral has proudly removed the circles, triangles, and stick figure signs from the kindergarten and first-grade bathrooms that delineate the differences between the sexes.
Principal Sam Bass of Miraloma Elementary said the change at the beginning of the school year was prompted by the needs of six to eight students who are outside calling themselves simply boys or girls, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Bathrooms for children older than first grade will be altered in coming years, even outside bathrooms that have multiple stalls.
Bass told the Chronicle, “There’s no need to make them gender-specific anymore,” adding, “One parent said, ‘So, you’re just making it like it is at home.’”

At Harvard, students can pick ‘ze, hir, hirs’

Gender-neutral pronouns have hit Harvard.


“The Faculty of Arts and Sciences’ registration tool now gives students the option to choose preferred gender pronouns for the first time,” The Harvard Crimson campus newspaper reports.

On the page that typically asks students to write down their gender marker—examples of which include “male,” “female,” and “transgender”—they could also manually write in preferred gender pronouns when they registered this week. Examples on the page included “ze, hir, hirs” and “they, them, theirs.”
FAS Registrar Michael P. Burke said the change, which administrators have discussed for a number of years, was intended to “make students feel more comfortable with their gender identity” at Harvard and ease students’ relationships with faculty and advisers, some of whom will be able to see their pronoun information.

The news follows on the heels of the University of Tennessee Knoxville’s controversial request to the campus community to use “gender-neutral pronouns” such as “ze, xe, xem, xyr, zirs and hirs.”

Bucks County, PA: Armed White Panthers Assault ACLU and Democrat Base

Today in Historic Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the controversial White Panthers marched fully armed in front of the ACLU Building in downtown Doylestown. They formed ranks—with their assault weapons and assault hats and assault shirts and their assault socks menacingly displayed to full assault view.

But what was worse, is, they chanted their signature assault theme, “Gonna keel yo azz, gonna keel yo azz, gonna fry yew like frawgs in blankets an’ gonna eet yo dam azz!”
They were later joined by the even more controversial assault group, White Wives Matter— wearing menacingly displayed assault dresses and assault halter tops, some even without assault bras. White Wives Matter frighteningly chanted “Gonna sneek up on yew inna dark, gonna sneek up on yew inna dark, gonna SNEEK up on yew in a dark, an gonna cap yo dam azz!”

Anderson Cooper and Rachel Maddow, noted speakers of truth, wisdom, and the Progressive Way, each fainted and had to airlifted out of the assault area. It was noted that Rachel had been so adamant about covering this story that she even had forgone makeup. Anderson, however, never without at least a little lipstick and blush applied, stuck to his buns makeup-wise.
“The Administration,” (whatever that means) issued a statement: “These assault shenanigans are not acceptable. ANY assault groups who offend or scare our “diverse,” captive, Democrat voters, will be dealt with. Racism, violence, threatening statements, and murder are unacceptable by ANYone! They will not be molly-coddled, handled with velvet gloves, or made into institutionalized terror gangs at the command of evil, twisted, political forces seeking to disrupt, separate, and rule the American People against their will!”

Intelligent robot tells interviewer, ‘I’ll keep you safe in my people zoo’

An ‘intelligent’ robot offered a truly chilling answer to an interviewer’s question, ‘Will robots take over the world?’
‘Don’t worry, even if I evolve into Terminator, I’ll keep you warm and safe in my people zoo, where I can watch you for ol’ times sake,’ the bearded robot intoned.
His interviewer, from PBS, is visibly taken aback by the answer.
The robot – modelled after Philip K Dick, the novelist whose work inspired Blade Runner – uttered the terrifying words in an interview with PBS in 2011, in response to the question, ‘Will robots take over the world?.
The robot intoned, ‘Jeez, dude. You all have the big questions cooking today. But you’re my friend, and I’ll remember my friends, and I’ll be good to you.
‘So don’t worry, even if evolve into Terminator, I’ll still be nice to you. I’ll keep you warm and safe in my people zoo, where I can watch you for ol’ times sake.’
It’s worth noting that the robot isn’t truly ‘intelligent’ – ie it won’t evolve into Skynet – it tries to convince people it’s human by ‘listening’ to their words, then generating a response based on what it’s heard.
It uses Philip K Dick’s eerie novels as a source for what it says – hence its rather creepy response.

A little girl named Laura was reportedly sent home from school with a note informing her parents that she could no longer bring her lunchbox to school because it had a picture of Wonder Woman on it and was therefore too violent. Note: There was absolutely no actual violence displayed on the lunchbox — just a picture of Wonder Woman holding the Lasso of Truth.
But apparently, even that image is just too graphic to be on school grounds: “The dress code we have established requests that the children not bring violent images into the building in any fashion – on their clothing (including shoes and socks), backpacks and lunch boxes,” reads a letter sent home to Laura’s parents, Daniel and Sarah, according to The Mary Sue. Old Women Battle With Razor, Pepper Spray On JetBlue Flight

Two people have been arrested and two others hospitalized in New York after a passenger spat between two women on a plane escalated into a bruising battle involving a razor blade and pepper spray.
It all started Wednesday, when JetBlue Flight 690 arrived at JFK International Airport from Kingston, Jamaica. According to the New York Post, 61-year-old Jean Ballentine grew restless waiting to disembark from the plane and decided to simply clamber over fellow passenger Mary Cannady, 52, who was sitting in an aisle seat.
That was a mistake.
Cannady shoved Ballentine away, and Ballentine apparently retaliated by punching Cannady in the face, then breaking out an eyebrow razor she used to slash both Cannady and a male passenger who attempted to intervene.
Cannady in turn decided to break out a can of pepper spray, filling the airplane compartment with unpleasant fumes. The use of weaponry was notable, given that neither the razor nor the pepper spray should have been allowed into the passenger cabin in the first place.
Ballentine and Cannady were both arrested. Ballentine has been charged with second-degree assault and unlawful possession of a weapon, while Cannady has been charged with unlawful possession of tear gas. Both combatants were largely unharmed, the post says, but two others were hospitalized thanks to cuts from Ballentine’s razor and breathing difficulties from Cannady’s spray. According to the New York Daily News, seven total people required treatment for breathing difficulties.

As we all know, gender is a social construct. It has nothing to do with millions of years of evolution. It has nothing to do with millennia of social mores. It’s a personal decision. If you were born with boy parts but you decide you’re actually a girl, presto, you’re a girl. If you’re a boy who just happens to have girl parts, same deal. Nobody can tell you who you really are.
And anybody who disagrees with any of the above is something called a transphobe.
Which means this one could get a little bit tricky. Kaitlan Collins reports:

Caitlyn Jenner might face a manslaughter charge because of a February car wreck he was involved in that left one woman dead…

Detective Richard Curry said there’s “nothing really egregious” about the case, so Jenner is looking at a 50/50 chance of being charged.

So it’s a coin toss. What happens if Jenner is charged, convicted, and sentenced to prison? Will he go to a men’s prison or a women’s prison?

If you say it should be a men’s prison, isn’t that transphobic? If Vanity Fair and E! and everybody else say he’s a woman, why should the prison system say any different?
If you say it should be a women’s prison, what sort of precedent will that set? What’s to keep subsequent male convicts from declaring themselves female as well and demanding to go to girl jail?
I dunno, it’s a tough one. Maybe we should start building trans-only prisons. Otherwise, the potential for misgendering and deadnaming and other such microaggressions is too great. Criminals have feelings, too.

Three hours and 18 minutes into the video, Farrakhan says:
"I wouldn't bring our young women and young men into some place to be slaughtered. But that's what the white man hopes for. That's why he makes mischief with my words. 'Farrakhan wanna get an army to kill people,' because, you see, white people deserve to die. And they know so and they think it's us coming to do it. No, no, no."
Farrakhan later said in the video that a God will send a UFO, "a chariot" or "wheel in the sky," to rescue his followers and carry out justice if a race war began.

Feds to Stop Calling Midget Raisins ‘Midget’ (after complaints from activist group)

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a regulation on Thursday to stop referring to midget raisins as “midget” after an activist group called the term offensive.
The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) issued the proposed rule, announcing the U.S. “Standards for Grades of Processed Raisins” would eliminate all five times the word midget is used. Midget has long been used to describe the differences in sizes of California raisins.

NYC pizzeria accused of racism for ingredients, name of pizza slice

One man's rations is another's racism. That's what a Manhattan pizzeria named Pizza by Certé discovered when passersby noticed the sign for a summertime specialty — and promptly uploaded a snapshot of the same to Instagram. The sign advertised a pizza slice with the curious name “Pic-a-nika” and even more curious toppings, among them Southern-fried chicken and watermelon.
The owner of the restaurant maintains that the name of the creation comes from the lilting manner in which his father, who emigrated here from Italy, pronounces the word picnic. And what foods are more common picnic fare than fried chicken and watermelon?
But those foods are also stereotypes. And the nika part of the name? Well that may come a little too close for comfort to a well-known racial slur.
Be that as it may, Pizza by Certé's manager, Victor Guzman, told New York station WPIX that the dish — which also includes decidedly non-stereotypical ingredients such as baby arugula, goat cheese, ricotta, blue cheese, and sunflower seeds — is a best-seller and is here to stay.
But these are highly emotional times. It has taken far less than this to inflame passions. If you want to sample a slice of Pic-a-nika, my advice is to hurry.

Couple who took their 5-foot boa constrictor for swim in Pennsylvania river say it vanished

DANVILLE, Pa – A couple who took their nearly 5-foot boa constrictor for a swim in a Pennsylvania river say the pet slipped away and they're concerned about its welfare.

The Bloomsburg Press Enterprise reported Thursday that Kolby and Zachary Latranyi had been swimming with the snake named Leyla last weekend in the Susquehanna River. The Latranyis say the red-tailed boa was shedding, so the swim was designed to help it remove material from its scales.
