well Chad made something wrong as Snuson thinks but I agree with those who says that he was quite a long time member here and could get little bit softer treatment. BUT if Snusdog is saying that it's decided I guess not much to do but Snus community become week when there are internal fights, look I can promise to Whalen Snus and not send him it will be my and Whalen problem, or Frosted fanaticly liking Odens Snus will be a few persons problem, but when

Anything that can help you save money or facilitate your acquisition of snus is a good thing. It is not the what, but the how and the why that were the problem in Chad's case…..and that problem had a long history of recurrences.......and someone finally had enough

I'm not saying that Chad hasn't "done" some things in the past to warrant this type of action, however I happen to KNOW that his mentioning the sale honoring his 5th anniversary at Snubie, had nothing to do with personal or commercial financial gain. A webshop agreed to have a sale and call it the "chad's 5th anniversary" sale. Didn't net him a red cent, but it DID save snuson members a ton of money. Many here are glad he mentioned it and I suspect that many here would want it to happen again in the future.

So, my point is simple, if Snuson's main goal is to disseminate info about snus, including where it's members can find the best deals available, then why was he banned for this simple (incredibly helpful) act? The members of SnusOn don't get their snus free like the mod team, or myself! I personally feel that SnusOn's ONLY roles in the snus world are to answer questions of people seeking more info on snus and other non combustible tobacco products, and to alert people to deals that are offered by the various vendors. If Snuson wants it members to know about deals that are available, and Chad told the board about an available deal....well, why was he banned? This stuff about, things that he's done in the past doesn't hold water with me. You guys let him back in the door, and as far as I can tell...he's been on his best behavior since, otherwise he'd have been banned for something other than living up to "one of main goals of Snuson" and alerting the membership here of a deal.

I don't understand the fear that the mod team has of letting other boards, or vendors come here and speak about deals or anything else, for that matter. How does it cost this board anything? Snuson would make the same amount of money if it had one member or 10k members.....zero. What you don't realize is that snuson, snuscentral, and snubie are all in the same boat....they all help educate new snusers and in doing so help me grow the organic footprint that snus has in the US. Why not put away the drama of the past and be a tad more forward thinking? I'd say a LOT of the members here have seen or spent time at snuscentral or snubie, should they be banned?

I'd just like to see us all working towards the same goal here. I'm done fretting over this....and will simply continue to help members here get snus into their local shops, unless that too is prohibited and will earn me the perma-ban....again.

Thanks snusdog. You have cleared the name of the snuson mods IMHO. We did not have access to all of that inside information. With that background information, the ban seems reasonable.

Sorry for the delay guys……..I have been ass deep in work stuff and have not had a chance to sort all of this out……….much less sit down and type out a response.

Here is the deal.

The short answer: Chad was banned for using Snuson for commercial purposes in clear violation of the ToU and for repeatedly using the content of the Snuson to direct traffic away from the site to his own site, again a violation of the ToU.

That is the short answer

The long answer has to do with a repeated pattern of behavior. Over the course of time, Chad has burned a lot of bridges (a lot). It started at once, his first week on Snuson and resulted in the now infamous Chad-Sagedill battle (something our old timers may remember well). It eventually led to his being banned for life back around the time the new site and Snuson shop were being implemented (I know this because I personally worked about a month to get ownership to reinstate him)….and while we are at it……no there has been no talk about another Snuson shop (one disaster is enough)………….

After getting reinstated it was not long until Chad began taking content from Snuson and repackaging it on his own blog as if it were original to his site (again I know this because some of this included things I had written for Snuson)…………….It then proceeded with Chad and Nash starting their own web forum (gosmokelss) which is perfectly fine…..what was not fine was using the threads and the Pm system of Snuson to rundown this site and to recruit members to their own site (a tasteless move to say the least and one that was seen as a stab in the back to those who had put their necks out on the line to get him reinstated. To them snuson had provided/promoted his reviews and given him the platform to further his Snus related endeavors--- in return it Chad over and again back stabbed his friends for his own gain..... you can do all that Chad has been trying to do without screwing those who helped you do it)………..

The final straw came when after a barrage of link backs to his own site…….there was a promo announcement that involved using this site for commercial gain.

This was perceived as one more incident (in a long line with a long history) of Chad using Snuson to redirect traffic to his own site for his own ends to the disregard of Snuson.

That is my understanding. I will tell you that the decision was an ownership decision. I will also add that after a couple of Pms and Emails from members I floated a proposal to reduce the ban to a vacation. That proposal was rejected before all the mods even had a chance to respond.

I have no idea about Rick......and to be honest I have not even had time to ask (we are relocating our main work facility .....and under a deadline......so I have been in it deep.....and will be for the next week or so).....

As far as Rick goes........what I do know is........there was no notice/discussion about it on the mod end of things (which there would have been had there been some infraction)........so given that.....and since he is back.......I have classified the whole thing in my mind as a snuson crop circle ........

I don't come on here anymore but I learned of this through the dreaded Facebook and a favorite member here that I keep in loose contact with over there. What a bunch of horseshit. I don't know what Chads been up to around here other than the fact that he posted a link to help us save money on snus. Yes, it was a RIVAL link, but Snuson doesn't even SELL snus, so who gives a fsck. Shame on Snuson. chad has been a member here for goddamn ever. Seriously, shame on you. Don't you all mods have something better to do? Life is waiting to be lived out there. I bet y'all banned him then placed a fat order on snuscentral lol. I'll tell you what I think happened, and if I'm wrong, please have one of the mod's come in here and correct me.....he came in and made an announcement about his 5th anniversary sale at SnusCentral. Which I think should be done in a "specific" forum for the online vendors to use. Having the online vendors come in and announce their sales will only help the consumers/members of this site.

If they ALL have the same ability to do so, then it's equitable and the playing field is level. My fear is that SnusOn is planning on launching it's own site, which we all need like a hole in the head. Alas, they will do as they wish.

Sadly, the mods/admin/Aki have all be "oddly" absent since they've banned Chad and I, but I have a theory about that as well. Best not speak it though, hate to get banned for 20 min again. The funny part is that my ONLY purpose here is to help the members of this site get snus into their local stores and I'd hate to see SnusOn get in the way of that. Once upon a time (and I still see glimpses of it) this site cared about helping the snus community...it wasn't just a place for people to hang out. I'd love to see Snuson have real purpose in the push to make snus more mainstream in the US and rest of the world.

for what little it means I agree with you. i've been on forums for twenty years. most of them carry more politics than Washington dc. Personally, i think once someone has been a member several years it should be ok for them to mention their website. but then again, everyone has an agenda it seems. what baffles my mind is how members think forums are unbiased. everyone is out to make a dollar and some people can't take competition very well. I don't know Chad and have only been to his site once or twice. The funny part is the mods who deal with things like this will be replaced with some who will repeat history.

I'm not active here at all, but I do lurk and read some posts almost every day. Just wanted to chime in and give props to Chad for what he does providing info and reviews for us, and to Rick for getting snus into stores here in the US. I agree that the days of online orders are numbered. Thanks again guys.

Online tobacco sales in the US will be gone very soon....watch and see. The FDA will eventually put an end to it, it's already being talked about in certain circles.

Chads little post about a sale saved me about a hundred dollars......! I no longer feel free to mix it up around here....I try to keep to chat...and that is not so much nowadays. All the banning has got me concerned and paranoid about feeling free to yuckit up a bit. i was hoping that staying away would bring in some newbies who otherwise would feel intimidated. But loosing Chad is killing the very spark and soul of the snus scene, what are we supposed to do without that impetulant irrepressible fart?

Agreed, what exactly did he do? Only love for Chad here. Even I have reigned it in with some of my posts.
