Cant even find a brick of .22 here right now. Ammo shortages down in the lower 48 as well?

The severe shortage seems to have played out somewhat here, So Nv, any way. My son who is in the firearms and related enterprises told me last night that there is ammo and firearms beginning to come back onto the market. DHS aside, there seems to be a pattern of wild purchasing by gun owners after any national attention or perceived attention from DC, which causes shortages, and then things quiet down again.

Backswording looks like fun! I hate to admit it... but I am a bit of a WMA (Western Martial Arts) fan and do a bit meself. I hate to admit it because such things are considered very "uncool" here in the USSA. But to hell with it! I have a great time doing it!

That is mostly because Eastern Martial Arts have been romanticized world wide, but more so here in America to the point of ridiculousness. And we will continue to pay ticket prices to see Jet Li do a 5 story spinning jump kick while catching a bullet in his teeth without breaking a sweat or the wires supporting him.

One of the best things that the growth of MMA should show people is reality is an entirely different animal.

Of course this is a very difficult discussion, and I don´t know what to say. I´m always have been against guns, it is true that people are in right to defend themself but I think you always have to think in the people you have in front of you, maybe if someone get into your house to steal, maybe they are in an very tough situation, maybe they have children to feed, OK that doesn´t allow them to steal, but I think it is no a powerful reason to get killed. There´s a lot of other options than steal but still, it´s not a reason enough to shoot someone. Another option could be that your life is under serious risk, in that case maybe you have to act in someway to defend your life and maybe a gun is the solution. But if no weapons at all, no one has to get defended from them ,this would be the perfect situation, and all of us know that this is not the case, but could explain what I feel about guns.

When fighting a round of Single sword, as those two gentlemen are doing, it is quite difficult. Do backsworders generally employ the hanging guard or was that just the mood those two men were in?

So in Morris dancing one is not supposed to hit his partner, I take it? But still, Morris dancing would have been a display of ritualized combat, correct? Or was Morris originally a type of training for swordsmen? If it is ritualized, are they fighting the evil spirits or winter/famine?

I have to admit that I know very little about backswording - but from the history books I have read - what those two in the video are doing is playing at it. The original version used proper heavy wooden cudgels and people often died.

Morris dancing is not thought to be ritualised combat (although we do have one dance with sticks known as "shooting" lol) - the story goes that it's a fertility dance used to bring good luck and weather to the crops and animals - hence why it was normally only danced in the Springtime and at mid-winter. If you think of those sticks as giant phalluses you start to get the idea.

I'm not being a dick, but this point could be argued to death and back without any progress. People who want to own guns will never change their minds, and vise versa. Some people would like to control guns, others want them. Both of them bicker back and forth, wave the flag, and then make asses of themselves on national television.
