Greatest Guitarist of all Time

Heard the intro to Fire On The Mountain on one of the Dick's Picks series this AM. Amazing, It gets me every time. Every live version has it's own different charm.

My other favorite hero is Frank Zappa, even his jazz albums.

Frank Zappa deserves a spot among the guitar gods.

I comprehended everything just fine. Talent and influence go hand in hand with greatest ever, and I realize (as I stated when crediting your list as all excellent guitarists) that its just not about rock, and EVH and Slash can stand toe to toe with any guitar player in any genre. I never claimed they were better than anyone else, just that they belong on any list of greatest guitar players, because thats what they are, whether youl ike the music or not. So go on and keep trying to belittle me and making an ass out of yourself. If you would ever like to have a normal conversation, and talk to me like a person (since you act like you know me and don't know a single thing about me), then i would love to converse about guitar players. But as far as you lecturing me, and trying to "win" with subtle" insults, well, I am done with that. You keep on showing your ignornace, its at least cheap entertainment for the folks here.

The point is you are as ignorant as the people this was about. I mean facts are facts calling anything the greatest will lead to debate. But the fact is the people in the story had an argument over two guitarists that both came from essentially 80's hard rock music. So their lack of taste statement is due to the fact that all their limited scope they only listen to one genre and are missing so much more that is out there in music. Just two drunk rednecks reliving their big hair high school glory days.

And the fact that you have taken so much affront from some anonymous person on a tobacco message board shows everyone that you are basically the same type of ignorant redneck.

I enjoyed my time at tech, probably too much. This granted was well before that shooting incident. The biggest problem I had was disillusionment with my original major (Mechanical Engineering) so I left after three semesters to attend a more local college to figure out what I wanted to do.
