Its a yoof saying you get me? Usually it means isn't it but its just thrown in at the end of most sentences for no reason. All you need to know is ignore it and listen to the first part of the sentence "I'm going to the shops" is fine, the innit is arbitrary so try to block it out and decipher the welsh accent. If you want to mess with him and he is from south wales, when he finishes a sentence with innit respond with "you knows it!" he will feel right at home

First off, no offense is meant here. I have lots of love for our UK brothers & sisters. Quick question.. I've got a friend who is working out here in the U.S, he happens to be from Wales. He is hard as hell to understand 90% of the time, but he always says this one word "innit", and he will just casually toss that shit into a sentence out of the blue. I figured he meant "isn't it", but he doesn't seem to use it during those situations. He says this ALL the time.
Examples:
"I'll meet you at the pub later, innit."
"I'm off to the market to get some food, innit."
What the hell does he mean when he says "innit"? Help an ignorant yank understand.
Cheers!
