St. Clements and SP Extra are great from Toque too. St. Clements might just be my very favorite, but I've only tried ten flavors and am still waiting for last order.

My package arrived a few hours ago.

So, I began with Toque original. I used my thumb and index fingers to deliver it into my nose. The feeling is akward but it tasted good. After a while I start sneezing 3 or 4 times. No big deal. 15 minutes later I felt the urge to blow my nose and hell, there was a lot of brown stuff coming out my nose. I guess that's normal.

Another 15 minutes and I tried the Toque menthol. Fresh feeling, a little bit like vick vaporub flavour but no sneezing at all.

Some minutes later I start feeling like I had catch a cold. I blow my nose again and guess what: brown stuff and blood, tiny pieces of blood. Whata....

Now I have a tiny burning feeling in my nose.

Are these sympthoms normal when you start snuffing?

I can't wait to try all the other stuff I got but I'm not so sure about this side effects.

lol – yeah, it’s all normal mate. Just don’t over do it at first or your sinuses will go mad and just block up on you.

Edit: I like that burning feeling, i don't get it much now, so i kinda miss it!

Edit 2 I'd leave the #22 and HDT alone for a few days until you've got the hang of it or you will be sneezing like a mad man. Also, Quit and Gem might hit you hard if you're new

I sometimes get a bloody nose, especially in the winter when it's dry. I imagine that'll vary by person. Some have more sensitive noses than others. Just be careful not to sniff too high, and you should be alright. Menthols, especially strong ones can be a little irritating. I most feel that at the base of my nose, on the outside. My nostril separator(wtf?) gets irritated :^D

            Ok, second day into snuffing.

I tried Coke, Spanish gem (like it a lot), Berwick brown (like a lot too) and Chocolat.

I'm now starting to improve my technique. No sneezing at all.

But now other doubts are growing on me: I feel the flavour just for a few seconds, 1 minute tops. Is this normal or there are other snuffs that lasts longer?

I still can't get the all point of it (maybe cause I'm only sniffing for 48 hours) but if I was still smoking I can't see myself quitting the cigs with snuff.

To me is like a dessert, it tastes and smells great but I don't have that satisfaction feeling that snus or a all meal provides me. I mean, when I pop a snus in it takes the urge of smoking away from me and that doesn't happen with snuff.

I think I feel the nicotine buzz but I'm still not sure if it's only the side effects of putting powder on my nose. I've been feeling a light headache too.

Well, let's see what happens in the next days.

Some snuffs last longer than others. I'd say Toque tends to the shorter side, mostly due to the natural scents. The highly perfumed English snuffs, and German snuffs last longer. It's also an experience thing. Your nose needs to tune into the scents more after using awhile.

Toque also tends to the mellow side as far as nicotine goes. In fact, most snuffs do. I've had some that left me buzzing, but they're harder to take for various reasons. I use it as added enjoyment to my snus routine. You can quit smoking with snuff, but I suspect it would take more discipline than it does with snus, but I don't know. I can use snuff to replace snus ok. I miss the flavor, and lip feel, but I'm not flaking out due to lack of nicotine or anything.

Snus and snuff together worked for me to get away from smoking. They complement each other very well. I think snuff can help replace any oral fixation you may have from giving up smoking. Also it can take a while, sometimes a year, before you really master taking snuff, though you certainly seem to be doing okay. I absolutely love it, but if I didn't have snus, I don't think snuff would be enough to keep me away from smoking. But the American scotches certainly have a good amount of nicotine. The toasts are strong and Toque Quit and various other ones are strong as well. I am very thankful to this site for my introduction to snuff.

I agree with Lx...............the scent of some snuffs linger in the nose longer than others do...........however, regardless of which snuff you are using your nose needs a bit of acclimation.............you just blasted it with dust...........it burns, your nose flips out and starts running............hardly the optimum conditions for distinguishing the subtleties and finer nuances of the scent combinations used by a master blender.........Give your nose time to "not panic" when the dust hits.

In the meantime, try spending half a day with just one flavor...........pull a tin down when you are typing or watching the game and concentrate on just that one. The repetition will help you notice the flavor more. Also, not only will you find the flavor lingers just a tad longer..........you will discover it shows up unexpectedly in little echoes of scent from time to time.............you will run out to get the mail.........or head into the kitchen for a drink and suddenly out of nowhere your realize............"ah there it was.....Spanish Gem"
