Yanks use the word fanny in a similar way to bottom. In England fanny is a childish/old fashioned slang word for the female genital area.

Hence my confusion when I (by accident, I hasten to add) heard the opening jingle to The Nanny, when the horrendous harridan was apparently thrown out on her fanny.

I think so. Kinda like brits saying "bloody" in the USA and the americans finding that a "cute" word but to the brits a pretty harsh expletive.

Absolutely no offense taken  I used the word tummy for just a touch of silliness. I'll through words like that into my every day speech, mostly for my own amusement. I didn't know if there was maybe another word, or slang meaning from your side of the ocean that went beyond the juvenile American meaning of tummy

No no no! This time I didn't allude to language with my remark.

Argh nevermind, I just can't explain it over the internet. Just forget I said anything.

Do you have ANY IDEA how strange this sounds??
Maybe... It sounds a little strange in English, it might be stranger in another language though :?: It's kind of like eating hot peppers. If you described the experience to someone, they'd wonder why the hell you'd eat something like that. Words can't do the experience justice.

I never spit. If I feel like the snus is running too much I'll reposition the pouch(I use portions only) so it's farther up front, and tighter against my lip and gums. That slows it down considerably. I really like the strange sort of burn in my stomach though from the snus. It's kind of hard to describe, but I find it enjoyable. That's one thing I really like about the portions. I can set them in my mouth so they gush for a short time, then move them to slow it down. That way I get the nice tummy burn without going too far and getting sick

Sometimes I spit with N&J because I seem to salivate excessively and it will give me a stomach ache if I use it all day. Also I might spit if I am zoned out listening to music at home with a portion in and suddenly I realise I have a ton of saliva in my mouth.

One thing I noticed about the brands that make you want to spit is that both have a noticeable sweetness to them; the rich blend of sweet licorice in Onyx and that caramel tint in N&J.

Perhaps the dominance of sweetness and relative absence of salt in comparison with other brands is causing your taste buds to produce more saliva?

If they're in portion bags and you touch the tip of your tongue to them, you'll notice the middle section underneath your tongue start to drip.

That's something I should have added. It's only with portions that this happens. Never with loose. And, yes it is more of a forced reaction, or an extreme desire to spit.
Oh, and the ol' government of Michigan passed an extension budget at like 3:00 this morning.
