New snus, Now what?

When I was first starting I had over 20 cans open at once. Now I usually have 7 open that I use everyday. Right now I have 14 open cans because I recently got an order with some stuff I haven't tried. Yeah it's overkill, but it's fun!

UPS comes. I take out the portion I am using open something I haven't tried and use a portion of it. Use a few portions of it and open something else. As you can see this just leads to a bunch of open cans and we all know it's hard to get an idea of how a snus is when you are chain snusing it with a mixture.

Yup, been there man, haha. I have had to order several things again as if I never tried them, just got lost in the haze of flavors and nicotine a new shipment can bring.

My routine now is I'll open one new tin, transfer 6 portions to an empty tin, Ziploc the rest and put em in the fridge. I'll use those 6 for a day. The next day I will go back to one of my known "go-to" snus. Next day another 6 portions of the new, and repeat....

I like the day breaks to cleanse my palate with something familiar. Does take willpower with a freezer full of goodies.

I usually crack open one each of every new snus and feel them out. Otherwise it is one los open in the fridge and maybe two or three portion tins that get rotated through until finished.

I have three tins of los open atm though...but one is almost finished.

I am back on rotation for portions now so that makes me happy.

I always opened all the new to me snus to try it out. If I liked it, it would go on the roll buy list. I've had as many as 20 tins open in the fridge. It's not ideal for freshness, but it helps with planning future orders. I very seldom buy singles. I figure if it's worth buying, it's worth buying rolls. That doesn't apply to untried snus of course, but it's the most economical way to get snus you like.

Right after I posted this I thought that putting them in the freezer would be a good idea. But now I am thinking of putting some of what I already had open in ther until this General is gone.

one can of portions in my jacket pocket - - thunder original, and one can of los in my minifridge. I have some cans open, but I've sealed them and put them in the freezer.

To be honest I opened General Ekstra Sterk and I think the problem is solved. Now I just hope the ones that were already open work their way into the rotation. This is Good.

I usually have around 7-8 cans open at any given time as well. Right now it's 3 los and 4 portion, usually they don't end up drying out much at all by the time I use them. When I get a new shipment I usually either open one or two cans and add them to the rotation for the day, or try out the new stuff and quickly seal it away in the freezer. Throwing them in the freezer after trying them seems to work well in keeping them fresh.

HAHA I used to do the same thing.
Now I just try my best to be disciplined and pack and freeze new snus and only have one can of portions and one can of los open at a time.
I know its hard not to rip into everyting but just hang in there. no sense in drying out good snus

I am wondering if anyone has a system in place for when a new order comes and they get some stuff they haven't tried before. I made the same mistake a few times and ended up missing out on the real experience of certain snus.

Plus the fact that when you have 8 cans open some are bound to dry out.
UPS just came and I am not making this mistake again. I know I like Frosted so I will just continue to carry the can that I mix. Long+ Mini and regular together in one can. I guess I will open 1 can of something new and use it until it's gone. I still have 3 cans of loose open so I guess the smart thing to do would be finish them before I open any new loose. Anyone have a better idea?
