GN i know there is a lot of stuff going on in the Scandanavian countires that seems really strange. But saying being gay is alright will not turn your children gay. Being gay happens by being gay. I could hang out with gay dudes all day and watch gay porn as a full time job. It still wouldn't intrigue me. Sometimes dudes just like getting slammed in the turd cutter, and that's ok. Noone in society is going to tell you you should be gay or encourage you to be gay. I've never seen or heard of that. The reason you see a higher rate of gay men being strange or different is typically because they were either abused/tormented for being gay.

homosexuality is certainly not new. most reasonable people did not hate or fear it. it was understood to be fairly uncommon and not the normal or usual way of things. the sudden push in media to convince us that it is completely normal, and like half the world is doing it is what makes many people apprehensive. the abc television show "modern family" depicts a mixed race marriage and a homosexual couple raising a baby. the title itself aims to convince you that this is the regular normal way to raise a family now. imagine if the "andy griffith show" depicted andy nailing barney fife while raising the young boy "opie". children absorb everything they know about the world from what they are exposed to. I guess myself as well as many others are no yet convinced that homosexuality is not an issue of nurture over nature. that is to say it may not be "a choice", but is certainly impacted by the culture and environment is which you mature.

But seriously, while I agree with Thunder and Crow on this, I feel like (based on what GN and Frankie are saying) that things are headed in a much more liberal direction in Europe, some might say scarily so. And I do feel that parents do have a right to teach their children what they think is right; that's the most basic expression of free speech. It's the only way to keep ideas (good or bad) alive.
