    Living in Aus:
I'm half Norwegian so this could be quite biased but I think Norway is awesome. The land is beautiful, the people are beautiful and the food, well it might not look beautiful but the taste is exquisite (40 AUS (about the same US) for a pizza you say?! Well it was worth it in my opinion).

    Some point facts/observations

. Norwegians love themselves (who can blame them? :P)
. Norwegians tend to brew their own alcohol (and succeed in a fine brew)
. Norwegians despise Swedes, as do the Swedes despise Norwegians (Swedish gypsies stole my shoes while I was traveling through sweden to get to Finnmark)
. Norwegians (the younger ones) seem to dig Black Metal (but don't dress like Emo's)
. Norwegians LOVE World of Warcraft (and other video games)
. Norwegians purchase most of their durable supplies from sweden (e.g. Alcohol, tobacco products, foods to be frozen)
. Norwegians (younger ones) tend to complain about where they live (but still boast about their Norwegian ethnicity)
. Norwegians are generally better looking people (but theres always one to spoil the occasion)
. Norwegian boys dress like black people
. Norway is slowly becoming more materialistic
. Norway has a high living standard so visiting is pricy but living there is not so bad
. Each time I go to Norway there seems to be more and more foriegners
. Norwegian dialect changes dramatically from village to village (In some cases a person from say, Kongsberg wont understand a person from Bergen)
. Norwegians are STILL vikings in disguise and could rape the world at any moment
. You can carry a knife around in Norway and nobody would care
. Norwegians have a cool accent and their language is easy to learn
. Norway is the modern day Noah's arc
    . Norway is cold
    . Norway has cool animals
. Cocaine is big in Norway
. After spending a few months in Norway prices don't seem that expensive
    . Great fishing in Norway

That was more points than I expected. . . but yeah. . . this is all observation.

Been living in Norway for 6 years, and can tell:

    True

Portugal: Norway is cold and everyone eats fish.
    True

Dane: Norway is expensive, everyone are rich, everyone are freandly, Norwegans like fish and beer and Norwegians are proud of their nature and culture.
    Partly False

Swede: Norwegians are arrogant, rich, cheap, trendy, fashion conscious, good at skiing and they like Sweden.
Don't know if Norwegians like Sweden more than they like Norway, lol .... they're not very much into fashion (You can see thousands of Norwegians dressing up from "tilbud" shops ... cheap clothing shops that always have sales, Norwegians aren't rich but they have a confy life style (you can see more Maserrati, Ferrari's, McLaren's, Rolls Royce's, Bugatti's in Romania than anywhere in the world.... Norwegians have low budget cars ..... mostly. Norwegians aren't arrogant but not very friendly either....... and they're good at skiing......... Hollmenkolen says it all :^)

    True

Englishman: Norwegians are always blond, they are arrogant and most of them work with oil of some kind.
90% of the women and men are blonde and yep Norway's is rich in Oil :^)

Everything you always wanted to know about Norway or how the rest of the world sees Norway..........

Norway, the land of the Vikings. In Norway only 1 out of every 12 rapists are sent to jail! Rape is actually almost legal! Norwegians don’t seem to like Jews. They had an anti-Jew paragraph in its constitution. Norway was once a floating arsenal of virgins created by the Nazis to spite Churchill. It was later crushed into Northern Europe where it remains today. Norway has the worlds largest population of black metal fans and most are homosexual! There is a city in Norway called Lillehammer who got electricity and applesauce only when the winter Olympics were held there. It is so hard to find Norway that it can’t be seen on radar. It is very expensive to live in Norway.

In the city of Tromso, 95% of the buildings are built from fish bones! There are so many trees in Norway that they outmatch people 1,000,000 to 1! Norwegians seem to be loosing fingers. The average Norwegian only has 8 fingers which could have something to do with the heavy metal appeal! Norway is the first city to outlaw the numbers 7,8 and 9. It is due to the solidarity to the large logging industry. People must get bored in this country. They have no internet! Unfortunately, in Oslo about 20% of the people are drug-addicted, homeless beggars. In fact, this kind of behavior is actually legal there because the police aren’t allowed to stop criminals. Law enforcement is disliked and considered rude.

Racism has become a sport in Norway. Brumunddal city is called “Norway’s racism-capital.” They have won the Golden Nigga trophy for many years. As far as income tax in Norway it is 50%, a pint of beer costs 15 dollars and a pack of smokes costs 20 dollars. There’s a 25% VAT on all products in addition to other taxes. In fact, most people can’t even afford meat and vegetables. They survive on bread, cheese. Food is so expensive that it makes 9000 an heros, the government does this for massive lulz. If you smoke it is illegal in Norway! You can purchase tobacco and many do and then have no money left. The popular film “Life of Brian” was banned in Norway! They considered the film to be blasphemous and it didn’t come out there until 1980. However, they marketed it with the tag line “The film that is so funny that it was banned in Norway!”

    1. Lutefisk (Seriously? Lye in your food? This stuff is horrid...)

    2. Cool scenery
    3. Blonds with large noses (maybe just my experience with Americans of Norwegian descent)
    4. Apathetic in that Scandinavian way
    5. Socialists
    6. Economically smart - and so far smart enough to stay out of the EU
    7. Akvavit!
    8. Ridiculous metal "music"
I actually had to look this up:

"akvavit - Scandinavian liquor usually flavored with caraway seeds"

    Sounds interesting.

Must go great with seeded rye bread!

    From an American:

I heard the VAT is very high in Norway -- a pint of beer is approximately $10 USD at a bar! I was told by someone about this, so they could be incorrect about their evaluation.

Anyway, whenever I picture Norway, I think of old architecture, gloomy weather, and black metal. I have never met a Norwegian myself, so I won't formulate any judgments about its inhabitants.
